Former Veendam Marks 30 Years While Laid Up in Greece
The former Holland America Line cruise ship Veendam, now renamed Aegean Majesty and owned by Greek ferry operator Seajets, has quietly reached its 30th anniversary while laid up at the port of Aigio in Greece. Delivered in May 1996 as the fourth Statendam-class vessel, the 1,350-passenger ship enjoyed a long career in the Caribbean and Alaska before being sold in 2020 and placed in cold layup awaiting a future role.
