Okaloosa County Confirms End of Remediation For Ocean Liner

Okaloosa County has confirmed that environmental remediation of the historic ocean liner SS United States is complete, clearing the way for the vessel to be intentionally sunk as an artificial reef. The ship now awaits final approvals from state and federal agencies before it can be scuttled offshore as part of a long-planned reef and tourism project.
